It used to be that when people wanted deep fried food, they would either have to go to restaurant that served it, or do it at home with a pot and a lot of oil. Deep frying at home the old fashioned way using a regular pot, filling it with oil, heating up the oil and dropping in the food was messy, and a little bit dangerous. You couldn t regulate the temperature of the oil as well as you wanted, which meant the food might not turn out the way you liked. Filtering the used oil, if you even wanted to go to the trouble of doing it, was a big pain, and you ran the risk of getting burned by spattering oil. Then, along came the electric deep fryers for home use. Suddenly deep frying became much easier, but there were still a few things about home deep fryers that made them less than perfect. Professional female Poker players have been a rarity until recent years and although no woman has as yet won the prestigious World Series of Poker WSOP , they have certainly made their mark and continue to do so in the world of professional Poker. As far as anyone knows, the first woman to play professional Poker was Alice Ivers, soon to be known as Poker Alice , a legendary figure of the Old Wild West. Since then, many women have proven themselves skilled and competitive players, none more so than Saigon-born Karina Jett, who came to this country from Vietnam at the age of two with her parents, who decided to settle in Las Vegas. Karina s interest in Poker grew through watching her card game loving parents. When she was old enough to play in the casinos of her home town, Karina soon developed the skills and polish to move into Tournament competition. Her skillful play has enabled her to successfully compete in major Tournaments all over the world. Incidentally, Karina met and married crackerjack Poker pro Chip Jett in 2001.

Billiards is an age-old game and to some, a serious sport. While you re idea of fun might involve a casual game of snooker or eight ball, you should also possess a general knowledge of the grand old game of billiards. The rules of billiards are quite simple, and not too unlike the barroom sport you re more inclined to play. In billiards, all of the balls within the racking triangle must be touching. If you take the break shot, strike the cue ball with your cue stick to initiate play of the game. Anything other than a direct strike of the cue ball can result in your disqualification. In regulation billiards, it is essential to call every shot. If you are playing under these rules, you must call the shot out loud before the stroke of the cue stick, indicating the ball you are shooting for and the pocket or combination you are attempting to hit. If you do not pocket your shot, your turn comes to an end. Any extra balls that are pocketed however, are credited to you. A billiards ball is only considered pocketed when it falls into the...
